Esau answered: I beseech thee, that some of the people, at least, who are with me, may stay to accompany thee in the way. And he said: There is no necessity: I want nothing else but only to find favour, my lord, in thy sight.

Upon hearing this, the brother replied, “If you wish, I will accompany you with some of my companions," demonstrating his admiration and support. However, James declined the offer as well. “What purpose does this serve?” he commented, “except to win your approval. My sole desire was to earn your goodwill; having achieved that, I seek nothing further.”
