John Chrysostom

He further elucidated the significance of the seven oxen and the seven ears of grain, indicating that there would initially be a time of great plenty in all areas, which would subsequently be succeeded by a harsh famine. He then provided Pharaoh with wise counsel. He advised appointing a capable individual to oversee Egypt, someone who would collect the harvest during the seven prosperous years and organize resources so that there would be support available during the time of famine, thus preventing total devastation.

What is there to be in awe of initially? Is it the depth of understanding that allowed him to grasp profound truths? Or perhaps the insight through which he anticipated such great and enduring hardship? Or is it his commitment to righteousness and equity? Through the former, he took on an immense responsibility by amassing a significant reserve of sustenance, and through the latter, he ensured that the provisions were shared fairly among all.
