Jerome of Stridon
The term seda (צֵדָ֖ה), which is universally rendered as ἐπισιτισμός, referring to 'food supplies' or 'bag of provisions,' is also found in the Psalms. Specifically, in the verse that states, ‘His widow I will bless with blessing’ (Psalms 131:15) (although many versions use θήρα (Greek for ‘hunt’ or ‘prey’) instead of ‘widow,’ or χήρα), the original Hebrew conveys seda, meaning ‘His food I will bless with blessing.’ Furthermore, while θήρα may be interpreted more as hunting than as food, the Egyptians traditionally use the term θήρα, now altered to athera, to refer to grain.
