You need only one thing: to endure the delay in the fulfillment of what was promised, and not to struggle anew. You are near the very crown. You have endured all the contests: bonds, afflictions, and the plundering of your possessions. What remains for you?
You are close to being crowned. Endure only one thing, the delay of the crown. What great consolation! He comforts them as one might speak to a combatant who has defeated all and has not a single opponent left.

Yet while waiting for the crown, he loses patience until the master of the contest comes and places the crown on him. In impatience, unable to endure thirst and heat, he wants to depart and flee. This is what Paul expresses. What does he say? "For yet a little while, and He Who is coming will come and will not delay."
