The Ammonites and Moabites have their origins in incest, as noted in Scripture, leading to their status as heretics whose misguided interpretations challenge the teachings of the Church fathers from whom they gained their understanding. Lot's daughters, in a secretive and unlawful act, misused their father's lineage. Consequently, the progeny of such individuals, adherents of false doctrines, are excluded from the community of the Lord’s Church. Those who renounce these heretical beliefs are indeed on a path toward righteousness.

Had they approached the Israelites with nourishment when they emerged from Egypt, they would have shown the virtue of living in peace and offering comfort through the Word of God, especially to those newly liberated from the chains of sin through the waters of baptism, yearning for the freedom of their eternal home.
