The Ammonites and Moabites originated from incestuous relations, as noted in Scripture, leading them to become heretics who distort the teachings of the Church fathers from whom they received instruction. Lot's daughters, under the veil of darkness, unlawfully engaged with their father's lineage. Consequently, the progeny of such individuals, namely those who adhere to heresies, cannot share in the fellowship of the Lord's Church. Those who reject heretical beliefs are fortunate indeed. For had they embraced righteousness and offered sustenance to the Children of Israel during their exodus from Egypt, they would have provided them with bread and water. Instead, had they lived virtuously and extended the comfort of God's Word to those newly freed from the chains of sin through baptism, they would have fostered a longing for the liberation of a celestial homeland.
