Observe that in light of verse 25, the elders stopped their prophesying, meaning they no longer preached to the people about renouncing their carnal desires. When they fell silent—likely due to the ineffectiveness of their message—Moses, accompanied by them, returned to the camp, or their tents. Subsequently, a wind arose that brought clouds of migratory birds, which not only fulfilled the people’s greed but also acted as a form of punishment for them.
