Joshua sought to restore their courage, tearing his garments and praising the land with countless exclamations.

The significance of Caleb’s name is revealing, as it translates to “the whole heart.” In contrast, Jephoniah signifies “conversion.” Those who possess a complete heart toward God are the offspring of transformation, and Jesus is with them. These individuals are akin to those who responded in faith to the apostles’ preaching, serving as a form of seed that called forth Israel. They represent what can be understood as the ‘remnant.’ Caleb shares a connection to, and is alongside, “He that saves”—the meaning of the name Jesus.

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High" (Luke 1:30-32).
