Cyrill of Alexandria

Caleb and Joshua boldly declared that the land was abundant and prosperous, affirming that "if the Lord delights in us, He will bring us into this land." They confidently maintained that the inhabitants would be vanquished if the Lord was Israel’s defender. Alongside them, Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, and Jesus encouraged the people to seize the land, praising it for its richness and its fertile ground ideal for cultivation. Those who sowed seeds of doubt missed out on the promises, while Caleb and Joshua became honored heirs of God’s blessings. Our Lord Jesus Christ bestowed the heavenly kingdom upon His followers.
