19th centuryCommentator

In their upcoming victories, this nation will be compared to a lioness or a lion, fully satisfied from its hunts and intoxicated by the blood of the fallen. The imagery of the lion is specifically designated in Scripture to the Messiah, referred to as the lion of the tribe of Judah (Rev. 5:5), and the victor who shatters his adversaries like fragile pottery (Ps. 2:9; see Rev. 2:27).
