The earlier prophecy that announced the Lord's coming to Egypt speaks of the Holy Child Jesus and His journey into Egypt with His earthly parents. The prophecy also foretells His return from Egypt to the land of Israel, highlighting God’s action in bringing Him out of Egypt. For there is only one Savior, our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, among the lineage of Israel, who has come and has governed the nations. Scripture confirms that the fulfillment of this prophecy would occur through a man from the Jewish race who would have dominion over many peoples. Let anyone who wishes to claim another name a ruler among the Jews who has exercised authority over multiple nations. Yet, no such individual can be identified because none exists. However, we must declare the truth regarding our Savior; it will resoundingly affirm that His divine authority, through the one taken from the lineage of Israel in human form, has indeed ruled and continues to reign over many nations.

God guided His people, Israel, out of Egypt. The prophet emphasizes that their deliverance was orchestrated by God Himself, accompanied by a multitude of miraculous signs along their journey to the Promised Land. This is akin to attributing great splendor to the unicorn. Under the divine protection of the Lord, Israel became as formidable as the unicorn, symbolizing their strength and terrifying presence to their adversaries, much like that of the unicorn or rhinoceros. This mighty creature possesses incredible power; its tough hide is impervious to bullets, and even a tiger's teeth do not intimidate the rhinoceros.

The animal's weapon is its upward-pointing horn, which it uses to shatter large trees, hurl stones, and strike its foes, causing even elephants and lions to retreat from the rhinoceros's devastating attack. In the book of Job, the unicorn (rhinoceros) is depicted as an unconquerable beast that stands in defiance of human authority (Job 39:9-12). As the prophet further illustrates the strength of Israel's fearsome adversaries, he refers to the one who will bind the tongues (tribes) of his enemies—indicating that they will be vanquished by his might as if by the fangs of a ravenous beast. He shall obliterate their fortune with his arrows, which are sharp and ruthless, piercing the enemy with relentless force!
