Andrew of Caesarea
Since You, O Master, they say, are the Cause and Giver of glorious victory, all creatures must give thanks to You.
Thou art worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honour and power. Because thou hast created all things: and for thy will they were and have been created.
αξιος ει ο κυριος και ο θεος ημων ο αγιος λαβειν την δοξαν και την τιμην και την δυναμιν οτι συ εκτισας παντα τα παντα και δια το θελημα σου ησαν εισιν και εκτισθησαν
2 Church Fathers comment on this verse
Since You, O Master, they say, are the Cause and Giver of glorious victory, all creatures must give thanks to You.
They lay down their crowns to show that the Lord was the cause of their glory, and not they themselves. Powerless and infirm, they can accomplish nothing without Him. To Him alone thanksgiving is due from all creatures for all things, as the Creator of all. He alone can accomplish everything in them, for them, and through them.
