At the outset, as indicated in verse 6, the narrative expands to encompass the death of Jesus Christ for all humanity. It is recorded that “Samuel took up the one lamb, and offered it for a burnt-offering with all men unto the Lord. And Samuel cried unto the Lord concerning Israel, and the Lord hearkened unto him.” Consider this: he sacrificed a lamb as a representation of the true God. This aligns with the proclamation of blessed John, who pointed to Him and exclaimed, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the world” (John 1:29). This unblemished offering is Christ, through whose precious blood we find salvation and sanctification.
