The enemy, represented as a lion, is described by Peter as “your adversary the devil, like a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Pet. 5:8). Our Savior entered the world and witnessed the fall of Satan from heaven like a flash of lightning (Lk. 10) and “there fell from heaven a day, rising in the morning” (Is. 14:12). Furthermore, Banea, which signifies “the builder of the Lord,” descended into the depths of this age, which typically cooled the fervent waters, and defeated the lion.
