Even though their dominion had ended, existence continued. ‘The beast was slain in my sight, and his body was crushed and delivered to be burned with fire.’ This signifies complete annihilation.

Theodoret of Cyrus

The authority of the other creatures had already come to an end, as the Prophet noted, even though they had ruled for a considerable duration; each held sway for a designated period. Once this was fulfilled, and the other empires had already fallen away prior to this moment, and those who warranted judgment in the fourth kingdom were cast into the flames; then, the Prophet declares,
