By acknowledging their involvement in the wrongdoing of the Jews, they will receive pardon. The Jews, who mistreated Christ, bring condemnation upon themselves through their unrighteousness when they declare, ‘His blood be upon us and upon our children’ (Matthew 27:25). In contrast, those who strive to attain grace from Him and seek cleansing through the Holy Spirit bring Him honor, proclaiming as if they were saying, ‘Our hands have not shed this blood.
