The splendid celebration in honor of Esther's marriage, arranged for both dignitaries and common folk, reflects the ultimate joy that all humanity shares—both the esteemed and the everyday person—which stems from the sacred communion between Christ and His Church. Those who are deemed worthy to partake at this gathering are nourished not with earthly delights, but with the spiritual sustenance of wisdom and virtues. At this banquet, all believers receive the holy Sacraments of the Lord's Body and Blood, which are the means to their salvation; within these lies the nourishment of everlasting life. Our King grants peace across all nations and generously bestows gifts, liberating those who have faith in Him from the weight of their sins and enriching them with spiritual blessings.

This truth is affirmed by His words in the Gospel: Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will comfort you; take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls (Matthew 11:28-29).

Herodotus frequently references the celebrations and regal offerings of Xerxes. He also notes the unfortunate circumstances of the Persian treasury following Xerxes' return from his military campaign in Greece, which aligns with the time of Esther's marriage.
