Moses then went back to Midian and spoke to his father-in-law, saying, "I will go and visit my brothers in Egypt." Even though being apart from Moses was regrettable, he remained undeterred by the divine purpose manifesting from above.

Moses refrains from sharing his vision and calling with Jethro, likely due to his humble nature and a deep respect for the holiness of such revelations, which he believes must be communicated only to those designated by God. The Greek Septuagint further elaborates on this point, referencing the subsequent verse and additional commentary. Additionally, both Flavius Josephus and the Book of Jashar note that the Pharaoh who sought Moses's life had passed away by that time. The Septuagint's inclusion suggests that a significant period transpired between Moses's encounter with the burning bush and his eventual departure.
