It is important to recognize that when Moses was dispatched to the Israelites, the message was not, “Look, I have appointed you a deity for the people, and your brother will serve as your prophet.” Instead, it was said, “Your brother will articulate what you cannot to the people.” Furthermore, the instruction was, “He shall function as your mouth, and you shall be to him as God,” not, “You shall be to him a deity.” Nonetheless, it is noted that Moses was regarded as a god to Pharaoh, with Aaron serving as his prophet in relation to Pharaoh. This illustrates that God's prophets convey what they receive from Him, and a prophet of the Lord is one who delivers God's message to those who are either unable or unworthy to receive His voice.

The Lord declares to him, "The very aspect that leads to your humility will elevate you. For you, in your quietness, will be accompanied by a prophet who will proclaim."

Theology often refers to divine beings as the celestial and transcendent entities, as well as the holy figures who are devoted to God.

Philaret of Moscow (Drosdow)

19th centuryChurch Father

You will serve as his representative before God. In Genesis, you are to be like God to him. The term "elohim" here refers to the role that Moses was to fulfill, guiding and instructing his brother in accordance with God's will. This is similarly expressed in Psalms 62:6. Az rekh Bozie vesti.

Aaron was likely proficient in the Egyptian language, despite Moses's loss of Hebrew during his time in the wilderness. This highlights a significant truth about public life: the individual who can articulate thoughts is often overshadowed by the person of deep conviction and decisive action. People are influenced not just by words, but by a steadfast belief in God and their divine purpose.
