Moses confronts Pharaoh openly, revealing his awareness of Pharaoh's deceit. He demonstrates that through prayer, he can halt the thunder and hail, underscoring that "the earth is the Lord's," which affirms that only the Lord (Jehovah) reigns supreme over the earth. Furthermore, it signifies that Pharaoh's soul, filled with deceit and cunning, is fully known to the Lord. Thus, in addition to suffering physical afflictions, Pharaoh is provided with profound moral lessons and a direct admonition that he cannot ignore.
