One Church Father comments on this verse

Theodoret of Cyrus

5th centuryChurch Father

It is proclaimed, Look, He approaches, rather than, Look, He approaches; as the Prophet conveys what has already transpired in reference to Jechoniah and refers to future events as though they were completed, in line with his distinctive manner of expression. The fact that he mentioned Jechoniah, who had already been in exile for six years, is further illustrated by the subsequent words according to the guidance of the Prophet.
