The Church Fathers on this verse

One Church Father comments on this verse

Theodoret of Cyrus

5th centuryChurch Father

I will disperse you among the nations, demonstrating the purpose behind this. Your impurity will become evident, and I will claim you in the sight of many witnesses, for I am the Lord. As you find yourselves as captives and settlers, you will learn wisdom through experience, and when you turn away from your past wrongdoing, you will realize that I am your God and Lord. You shall be called My inheritance, and the nations with which you are severed will come to recognize My glory and My might.
