Theodoret of Cyrus

I will instill in them the terror of the sword, upon all my mountains, declares the Sovereign Lord. Following the quake that came before, I will bring upon them fear and horror from their foes, causing them to panic and fail to recognize one another, leading them to turn against each other. This is reflected in the saying, A man's sword shall be upon his brother, and I will judge him with death and blood. Not only will they inflict destruction upon one another, but I will also strike them from above. I will send forth deluges, hailstones, fire, and brimstone upon him and upon all who are with him. I will be exalted, glorified, and consecrated; I will be made known among many nations, and they will recognize that I am the Lord. When they are surrendered to ruin, those who do not know me will come to understand my might, and they will bow before my sovereignty.
