John Chrysostom
It is noted concerning Laban, her father, that upon hearing this from his daughter, he hurried to encounter Jacob, welcoming him warmly and inviting him into his home.
Who, when he heard that Jacob his sister's son was come, ran forth to meet him: and embracing him, and heartily kissing him, brought him into his house. And when he had heard the causes of his journey,
3 Church Fathers comment on this verse
It is noted concerning Laban, her father, that upon hearing this from his daughter, he hurried to encounter Jacob, welcoming him warmly and inviting him into his home.
Just as Moses stepped into the dwelling of an idolater, so too did the divine Jacob, for Laban was still an idol worshiper and embraced idolatry.
He recounted to Laban all that had transpired, including details about his family, his journeys, and how he came upon Laban's household through divine providence.
