The Church Fathers on this verse

One Church Father comments on this verse

John Chrysostom

4th centuryChurch Father

Upon witnessing the gathering of the family of believers, he was filled with astonishment and awe, prompting him to inquire. What did the righteous individual proclaim? "These are the children," he declared, "whom God has granted to your servant." Observe the magnitude of strength within his humility and how, through his gentle speech, he mitigated his brother's fury.
