But not content with such retribution, they took their sheep, all their livestock, and their children, and after laying waste to the city along with its inhabitants, they returned. Do you perceive, dear ones, the wickedness brought forth by the imprudence of a single young man? Observe the devastation it has caused to all the residents of the city. Aware of this, let us guide our children and temper the recklessness of youth through either fear or reason. We must safeguard their purity and arrange all things so the youth can steer clear of inappropriate desires. For this reason, the Lord, understanding human frailty, instituted marriage to protect us from immoral unions.

Therefore, let us not leave young men without guidance; rather, recognizing the fervor that stirs within them, let us ensure they marry in accordance with God’s law before they succumb to immoral behavior. May their sense of purity be upheld, and may they be shielded from the harm of licentiousness, finding adequate solace and the ability to restrain their passions, thus avoiding punishment.
