but not content with mere retribution, they took their flocks, their livestock, and their children, and after laying waste to the city along with its inhabitants, they returned. Do you see, dear ones, the havoc that the folly of one young man has caused? Observe the ruin it has brought upon all the people of the city. Understanding this, let us guide the inclinations of our children and temper youth with both fear and encouragement. We must safeguard their purity; let us manage all things so that the youth may steer clear of unwholesome desires. For this reason, the Lord, recognizing the frailty of human nature, ordained marriage to help us avoid unlawful unions.

Therefore, we must not neglect our young men; understanding the flames of passion within them, we should ensure they are united according to God’s commandments before they surrender to immorality. May their sense of virtue remain intact, and may they not fall prey to debauchery, finding sufficient solace and the ability to control their carnal urges, thus evading the consequences of sin.
