Do you understand the significance of receiving assistance from the right hand of the Almighty? Observe that he is both youthful and a wanderer, a captive and a servant; nevertheless, he inherits everything from his master. It is stated that ‘all things’ are entrusted to him. Why? Because, with divine assistance, he cultivated his own virtuous character. Thus, it pleases God not to extricate virtuous individuals from peril or to liberate them from trials, but instead, in the midst of those challenges, to reveal His support so that the trials themselves become opportunities for victory. This is echoed by the blessed David, who proclaimed, ‘In tight places Thou hast given me room’ (Psalm 4:2). He expresses that God has not removed his suffering nor afforded him solace by liberating him from it; rather, what is wondrous and remarkable is that in the heart of his tribulations, God has brought him to safety. The same compassionate act is evident here, performed by the merciful Lord.
