Observe the wisdom displayed. Desiring to support them, attend to their father's requirements, and ascertain the true situation regarding his brother, he commanded that one of the brothers remain in custody while permitting the others to return.

He insisted on the presence of Benjamin, his younger sibling, declaring that without the boy, they would face dire consequences in the land of Egypt. The Israelites, seemingly burdened by an overwhelming hunger that struck at their hearts, humbled their high spirits and came to Christ in due time, seeking from Him the bread that is both holy and spiritual—life-sustaining bread. However, He will accept them only alongside a new flock, with Benjamin serving as a type or symbol.
