The tumultuous waves of the unfathomable depths may represent the transgressions in which the unrighteous are consumed by the malignancies of their mortal existence, as well as the chasm of their impending doom, for at the Final Judgment they shall be cast into Gehenna along with the adversary. It is important to note that when the Tabernacle was established on Mount Sinai, the Red Sea lay to its west, and when it was transported to Shiloh and erected by Joshua, the Mediterranean Sea similarly stretched in that direction. In the deep understanding of Scripture, we can perceive here that the saints who dedicate their lives to the Lord create a dwelling for Him within their hearts, and they scorn the arrogant self-aggrandizement of the self-righteous as if recognizing its inevitable end.
