One Church Father comments on this verse

Augustine of Hippo

5th centuryChurch Father

Therefore, while an angel is capable of utilizing various elements such as air, mist, fire, and other physical forms, a human conveys the thoughts of his mind through facial expressions, speech, gestures, writing instruments, letters, and other means. Ultimately, being human, he transmits messages that are inherently human. For instance, he may instruct someone to Go, and they will go; he may tell another, Come, and they will come; or command his servant, Do this, and it is done (Luke 7:8). How much greater and more effectively does this apply to the Lord Himself, who is subject to all things? He embodies both humanity and the celestial, fully equipped to express the commands that originate from Him.
