Cyrill of Alexandria

Having sought shelter with an elderly man, the sons of Benjamin, ruthless individuals as described in the Scriptures, arrived under the cover of darkness, intent on capturing the Levite and others for immoral purposes. They exhibited little shame in their heinous conduct, seizing the Levite's concubine and ultimately taking her life, while cursing her throughout the night.

they were unexpectedly encircled by the Gibeonites, youths who were prone to indulge in every desire, lacking any sense of moderation or discernment. The woman's allure mesmerized them and incited wild passions. Enchanted by her physical allure and observing the frail state of her guardian, they resolved that they could claim her for themselves, insisted on taking the woman, and forcefully breached the door.
