The law further establishes a mandate regarding a woman experiencing menstruation and another suffering from a persistent flow that renders her unclean. Just as any vessel, bed, garment, or person who comes into contact with her is rendered unclean through her condition, so too is she made unclean. This state is addressed through a process of purification involving the use of water, the offering of turtledoves, and atonement conducted by a priest. (See Lev. 15:1-15)

Why does the law designate a woman as unclean when she naturally experiences an excessive flow of blood? The same principle we apply to those who emit seed holds true for this woman as well. This designation of uncleanliness serves to isolate her, preventing any man from associating with her. It is believed by some that ailments such as sickness and leprosy can arise from such interactions. Consequently, the law identifies anyone who comes into contact with such a woman as unclean. The lawgiver articulated the rationale for these commands, stating, "And thou shalt make the children of Israel reverent from their uncleanness; and let them not die for the sake of their uncleanness, when they defile My tabernacle which is in them" (Lev. 15:31).

If He mentioned that even unintentional defilement renders one unclean, it highlights that involuntary acts are even more reprehensible. These laws were particularly relevant to the Israelites, who were known for their indulgent and lascivious behaviors. The act itself was not as significant as the adherence to these regulations, which was essential for guiding them toward spiritual maturity.
