Bethnemra, a town belonging to the tribe of Gad, is located near Libiada, across the Jordan River. Similarly, Betharam, another town of the Gad tribe, is situated close to the Jordan and is referred to as Bethramphtha by the Syrians and as Liviada by Herod to honor Augustus.
