Esebon, a city associated with Zion, was ruled by the king of the Amorites within the territory of Gilead. Previously belonging to the Moabites, it came under Amorite control through conflict. Both Jeremiah and Isaiah refer to it in their prophetic visions concerning Moab. Today, it is recognized as Esbus, a prominent location in Arabia, situated in the mountains opposite Jericho, approximately twenty miles from the Jordan River. This area fell within the land allotted to the tribe of Reuben and was designated for the Levites.

Eleale, another city of the Amorites in Gilead, was allocated to the tribe of Reuben and is also noted by Isaiah and Jeremiah. Presently, there is a large village identified on the first milestone from Eusebon. Cariathaim, a city established by the descendants of Reuben, is near Medaban in Arabia, where an all-Christian village known as Coraiatha can be found about ten miles westward from the aforementioned city, close to a location called Baare.
