David, who initially set out to eliminate Nabal of Carmel, was prevented from carrying out this plan by recalling God’s justice, for which he expressed gratitude later on. We also recognize his actions when he lost sight of God, as he remained in a state of unrepentance and fear of the Lord until the Prophet Nathan reminded him of God’s presence.
