Whoever adheres to divine righteousness should offer a sacrifice: O Lord, may His virtue be blessed, and may You accept the fruits of His labor (Deuteronomy 33:10-11), so that He may receive the grace of prophetic blessing.
Thy judgments, O Jacob, and thy law, O Israel: they shall put incense in thy wrath and holocaust upon thy altar.

This occurred during the time when the people were facing discipline. For Aaron, by presenting incense, he averted the destruction that had been decreed from above.
