It cannot be claimed that He shows little concern for this matter; rather, He deeply values the upbringing of children. To this end, He instills within parents a strong instinct to nurture their offspring. Furthermore, He has provided us with teachings regarding their care, emphasizing the importance of imparting these lessons. For instance, when discussing the Passover, He instructed: ‘And thou shalt declare it unto thy son on that day, saying, This is for the sake of that which the Lord did unto me when I came out of Egypt.’ Likewise, in the Law, when referring to the firstborn, He states: ‘And when afterwards thy son shall ask thee, saying, What is this?

then shalt thou say unto him, The Lord hath brought us out of Egypt out of the house of bondage with a strong hand: for when Pharaoh persisted in letting us go, the Lord slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of man unto the firstborn of cattle: therefore I sacrifice unto the Lord every male that openeth the fold’ (Ex. 13:14, 15). Through these teachings, He inspires parents to guide their children toward a deeper understanding of God.
