Theodoret of Cyrus
From the north, a multitude armed with weapons, chariots, and various vehicles will approach you. They will lay down their shields, maces, and helmets against you and establish a watch around you. Indeed, you will come to recognize who I am and the nature of your desires. Even when you disregarded me, I remained patient; however, upon hearing of your rebellion, they will swiftly arrive in full armor, riding on horses and chariots, accompanied by those under their command, and they will fortify your entrances with barriers. This is indicated by the declaration that they will establish sentinels around you. Furthermore, I will render judgment in their presence, and they will exact vengeance for their decisions against you.

I will unleash My passion upon you, and they will execute the fury of My wrath. Since I have chosen them over your care, I will discipline you for your transgressions by their hands, and to them, I will surrender you for suffering. The types of afflictions are also described: your nostrils and ears will be severed, your peace will be taken away by the sword, and your sons and daughters will be captured, while your tranquility will be consumed by flames. They will strip you of your garments and seize your instruments of praise. Some will be taken as captives, others will perish in battle, and many will suffer brutal mutilation without compassion; your possessions will be looted, and much of your property will be devoured by fire. Yet, the passage also reveals that there will be a purpose behind this punishment.
