Theodoret of Cyrus

5th centuryChurch Father

Therefore, you shall proclaim once more, O Prophet, to the land of Israel, and cry out to the mountains, the hills, the fields, and the wilderness: Thus says the Lord God: See, I have spoken out of My fervor and fury for the shame you have endured from the mouths of others. For this reason, the Lord says to the Sovereign Lord, Behold, I will lift My hand against the tongues surrounding you, and they shall face their disgrace. The scorn directed at you has led to a judgment upon those who have scorned you, and they will experience the consequences of their evil deeds in My sight, along with their malice and arrogance toward you.
