Theodoret of Cyrus

5th centuryChurch Father

When this sacrifice is fulfilled and this banquet is presented to you, every nation will witness the strength of my intention and the justice of my decree, so that the house of Israel may also understand from these events that I am their Lord and Sovereign. From this moment onward, and at all times, it serves as a reminder to the Jews of their past lack of understanding.
