Samson’s father and mother were unaware of the significance behind his actions. Had the Philistines declined his advances, their son would have faced them with his full strength. Conversely, if they had unified with him through marriage, it might have led to a more favorable treatment of their people. Essentially, such a union could have fostered harmony and equality between them, while the wrong done would prompt enduring resentment.

Why did Samson, despite leading a life filled with immorality and rebellion, experience divine favor? This illustrates that the Lord, in pursuit of greater purposes, imparts His heavenly gifts even to the unworthy. The holy Gospel supports this notion, as evidenced by the words of the Savior: "Many shall come in that day, and shall say unto Me, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Thy name, and in Thy name have done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity" (Matthew 7:22-23). The Almighty acted similarly in Samson’s case. In His desire to undermine the strength of the adversaries, He bestowed upon Samson extraordinary might through His divine grace. Consequently, He permitted him to wed a woman from outside his people.
