One Church Father comments on this verse

Theodoret of Cyrus

5th centuryChurch Father

He went on to say that a subsequent generation emerged who did not recognize the Lord or acknowledge the deeds performed in Israel, and that the Hebrews, cohabiting with the Canaanites, Thereseans, and other outsiders, formed marital unions with them. Through these unions, they became entangled in their sinful practices, as they began to worship Baal and the Ashtaroth.
