Naomi, which signifies comforted, returned to her homeland after enduring the grief of losing her husband and children. With the strength derived from this wisdom, she chose to keep her Moabite daughter-in-law by her side, thereby fulfilling the prophetic words of Isaiah: ‘send a lamb, O Lord, ruler of the earth from the rock of the wilderness to the mountain of the daughter of Zion’ (Is. 16:1).
