What perplexed him were the thoughts he was reflecting on. He was the sole witness to the Father and the Son, as though he were experiencing a divine revelation. What could the Jews possibly respond to this? With the arrival of the Son imminent, such wondrous visions rightly unfold.

Theodoret of Cyrus

He describes this vision as profoundly terrifying, and the lack of understanding regarding the significance of the enigmatic occurrences bewildered the mind and created a sense of turmoil.
