The term "sons of Kedemli" is interpreted by some scholars as "sons of the east." This group is descended from Ishmael. Thus, the Almighty God, through His prophet, addresses the children of Ammon, stating, ‘Since you took pleasure in witnessing the desecration of my temple by unclean and wicked individuals, the devastation of the land of Israel, and the exile of the tribe of Judah, I will bring you under the control of a nation that is weaker and less formidable than the Babylonians. This nation will impose numerous hardships upon you, establishing bushels in your towns, tending herds of camels in your land, and making you shepherds of sheep. Consequently, when these events unfold, you will understand that it is not due to my lack of power, but rather because of their wickedness, that my people have endured all that they have suffered.
