The woman that hath still issue of blood many days out of her ordinary time, or that ceaseth not to flow after the monthly courses, as long as she is subject to this disease, shall be unclean, in the same manner as if she were in her flowers.

The law further stipulates a ruling regarding a woman in her period of bleeding and one who suffers from a persistent discharge that renders her unclean. Just as every container, bed, garment, and any man who touches or approaches them becomes unclean through the emissions from a man, so too is she made unclean. Her purification is similarly carried out through the washing with water, the offering of turtledoves, and the atonement performed by the priest. (See Lev. 15:1-15)
