Cyrill of Alexandria
The law further prescribes a command regarding a woman who is in a state of bleeding, as well as one who suffers from a persistent flow that causes her to be ceremonially unclean. Just as any container, bed, garment, or person who comes in contact with what she has defiled becomes unclean, so too is she rendered unclean. She is restored in a similar fashion through rituals that include being washed with water, the offering of turtledoves, and atonement conducted by the priest. (See Lev. 15:1-15)
