Paul warns against conforming to the passing form of this age. John Chrysostom and Theodoret of Cyrus explain that wealth, glory and dominion are mere outward form, while virtue has an essential form. Since people sin daily, they are to be renewed daily through repentance, tears, confession and good works. The renewed mind then comes to know God's will.
